All the world’s a stage, And all the men and women merely players; They have their exits and their entrances; And one man in his time plays many parts. -Shakespeare
Even though Black Swan has been creating a buzz since it first screened at the 2010 Venice Film Festival and the Toronto Film Festival, I just recently found time to see it. …And have been mildly obsessed ever since. The costumes by Rodarte, in collaboration with Swarovski are enough to die over… not to mention Natalie Portman (who can do no wrong in my eyes) and Mila Kunis (one of my new favorite people) are phenomenal.
I feel as though it is impossible to deny the sisters behind the Rodarte label, Kate and Laura Mulleavy, were genius in their designs for the movie. After doing some research on the costumes, I came across this awesome behind-the-scenes video of the Mulleavy sisters and Nadja Swarovski discussing the dynamic of using crystals on set and in the costumes.
